If pandemic pressure has led you to a lot of stress and anxiety, you can at least take solace in the fact that you are not alone. Countless others are suffering the same frustrations:
- Having to wear masks in public
- Standing in long lines pretty much everywhere
- Missing loved ones who are isolated to stay safe
It can be a lot to deal with. Wouldn’t you rather transport yourself to a wide open space that’s lush and green? We understand not everyone is in a position to jet off on a vacation, so the following video may offer you the next best thing.
Welcome to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China.
According to China Highlights, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is the inspiration behind the film, “Avatar.”
It’s not difficult for visitors of any age to walk through the park’s paths, and cable cars, elevators and trams await those who want a higher view. One look at Yuanjiajie, the Yuan Family Territory that contains the majestic “Avatar Hallelujah Mountain,” and you will understand why.
Yuanjiajie is the most popular sight in Zhangjiajie, and for good reason.
“Yuanjiajie is a butte (steep-sided platform mountain), surrounded by higher peaks, grotesque rock pillars, and deep valleys,” China Highlights reports. “The highlights of Yuanjiajie include the First Bridge under Heaven, Avatar Hallelujah Mountain, and ‘Lost Souls Platform.'”
It would take you at least an entire week to explore the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in its entirety. But you won’t have to leave your seat to appreciate its natural beauty. The peak season for tourists at the park is May through October. From the comfort of your own home, you can see the wonders of Zhangjiajie without ever having to push by a fellow tourist on the trail.
