Everyone loves a good yoga session, but there is a new type of yoga that is going to make everyone want to sign up. And it sounds fun!
A hotel in England is bringing in unique yoga partners for their guests – and they’re so adorable! You may know them, they’ve got furry, striped tails. Yes, I’m referring to lemurs. I’ll wait for you to pick your jaw up off the floor.
According to BBC News, the Armathwaite Hall located close to Keswick in the Lake District has launched outside yoga classes with lemurs. The lemurs come from the nearby wildlife park, but they get to enjoy the classes with people. The session lasts for a whole hour and costs $60 per person.
As the website for the hotel declares, “One of our team will give you the background to lemur life whilst preparing food and enrichment for the troop. Following this, prepare to be enchanted by these inquisitive, gentle creatures who will delight you for the rest of your experience. They may even join you by sitting on your shoulder, head or lap so you can get up close and personal to them! Selfies are obligatory!”
The manager for the wildlife park, Richard Robinson, said to BBC News, “When you watch lemurs they do some form of the poses naturally – that typical pose warming their bellies in the sunshine. It seemed to be a really good combination to encourage people to have a go and spend time with a lemur.”
He added, “I don’t think you ever see an unhappy zookeeper. We spend all our time with animals. We know how it makes us feel and if we can give a little piece of that to people then great.”
Sign me up! Yoga is cool, but with lemurs, I’m sure it’s 1,000 times better!
