Man Holds Farting Wombat That’s Angrily Eating Corn

Have you ever seen a gassy wombat angrily eating corn? Well, now’s your chance!

Pete the rescue wombat was hanging out with his caretaker, Chris Barns, when the two filmed a short clip as part of a BBC series.

In the clip, Chris was holding Pete who was squirming around and angrily eating his favorite snack: sweet corn.

The Southern Hairy-Nosed wombat may not look that impressive or strong, but in the clip, Chris refers to him as being like holding “pure muscle.”

Mid-munching, Pete paused to release a loud fart!

Chris awkwardly stopped and let the camera crew know it wasn’t him passing gas. It was a light-hearted moment and one that many people found hilarious.

Check out the video below:

Chris was formerly a zookeeper, but he now spends his time helping injured and orphaned animals by running theThe Kangaroo Sanctuary in Central Australia.

On the sanctuary’s Facebook page, they explain that Pete was welcomed to the sanctuary as an orphan in 2015.

As the Australian Wildlife Conservancy explains, Southern Hairy-Nosed wombats typically stay with their moms for the first year, spending 6-7 months in their mothers’ pouch.

If orphaned too young, unweaned wombats don’t stand much chance of surviving on their own. Thankfully, organizations like The Kangaroo Sanctuary are there to step in and help when possible, like they did for Pete.

Say hello to Pete, our nocturnal Southern Hairy-Nosed wombat. Pete was an orphan who came to us last year. We've built him a wombat wonderland with tunnels, a den and heaps of dirt so he can happily dig his own tunnels. He is a real character and we love him. (-:

He’s clearly full of character and sass – and a little bit of gas!
