Doorbell Cam Films Woman Running For Her Life After Spotting A Flying Cockroach

A doorbell camera captured the hilarious and terrifying moment a woman was caught off-guard by a flying cockroach.

While those insects are enough to make most people squirm, this woman, in particular, had an adverse reaction to seeing one.

As you can see in the video below, the woman walked up the long path to her front door but then she noticed a flying insect. After taking a closer look, she saw the flying cockroach more clearly and took off running as if running for her life!

She ran all the way down the path and out into the parking lot, much further than necessary to avoid the tiny creature.

According to Orkin, there are around 55 types of cockroaches that live in the United States but not all of them use their wings to fly.

One of the most common flying cockroaches is the American cockroach, “a species that commonly uses its wings to glide,” according to Orkin.

While cockroaches are pesky enough crawling around, their ability to fly adds another level of creepiness.

As Orkin explains, “When flying cockroaches infest homes, they can go unnoticed for long periods of time. These nocturnal pests hide during the day, feeding on decaying organic matter and food crumbs when no one is looking.”

It seems the cockroach that the unsuspecting woman encountered fit that description as it came out for the night after presumably hiding during daylight hours.

Some might think the woman was overreacting by running so far from the door, but we don’t blame her!
