A Reddit post claims that sun bears are just humans wearing bear suits. And the video evidence they presented might just convince you.
Before I show you the video, let me tell you more about this rare bear species.
Sun bears, also known as honey bears for their love of honey, got their name from the white or yellowish patch on their chest that Southeast Asian legends see as a representation of the rising sun. They are also known as dog bears because of their rather cute appearance. They may be the smallest of all the bear species, but they still have a muscular build, and they grow to about half the size of an American black bear.
And contrary to their name, sun bears are actually nocturnal creatures, and they live an arboreal lifestyle. They have long claws that aid them in going up and ripping open trees, and they’re intelligent animals that are capable of making sleeping platforms out of branches and leaves high above the ground.
Sadly, due to habitat destruction and exploitation, these adorable bears have lost over 60% of their territory. Cubs are captured to be sold as pets, and some cultures also believe that consuming some body parts of the sun bear has medical uses, which scientists have proven wrong, and they’re being wrongfully hunted for it.
Lots of conservation efforts are being done to save this species. Organizations like WWF and the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre do their best to ensure the survival of the adorable species, providing sanctuary and educating people about the sun bears.
EDIT: The bears in the video are actually not sun bears. They’re Asian black bears, also known as moon bears. Both species live in Southeast Asia and they also look similar, hence the confusion. The main difference between the two species is that moon bears are much heavier and larger, have longer fur, and are known to be much more aggressive than sun bears.
I won’t bore you any longer. See the alleged “humans” disguised as bears in the video below. I hope this brings a smile to your face. Enjoy!Whizzco
