Vampire Bats: Children of the Night

Proper greatergood_ctg_belowtitle

The vampire bat is one of the most clever and talented bat species in the Amazon. It uses its array of hyper-senses, including an acute sonar-like hearing and a nose that can detect heat patterns, to stalk its prey, and locate the perfect spot to feed.

As their name suggests, vampire bats consume copious amounts of blood for nourishment, mostly from large mammals like pigs and capybaras.

Although vampire bats aren’t the prettiest animals on earth, they still deserve a place to call home. The Amazon, which makes up a huge portion of vampire bats’ habitat, is in danger of disappearing. Donate to protect this delicate ecosystem before it’s too late.
