This is One Beautiful Creature! Check Out the One-Horned Rhino

The greater one-horned rhinoceros, also called the “unicorn” rhino, is one of the rarest species of rhino on the planet — so rare that it’s been called “mythical.” They can be found roaming the foothills of the Himalayas, more commonly found near the wetlands of India and Nepal. Last century, the greater one-horned rhino population was under 200. Today, it is estimated that their population rebounded to about 3400. Thanks to India and Nepal’s strict protection. With very few numbers, it is no wonder why they would be considered mythical.

But it isn’t a myth — in fact, filmmakers were able to capture on film this rare and beautiful creature. The video shows the greater one-horned rhino in its preferred environment — wetlands! They are commonly found lounging near riverbeds, swamps and other open sources of water.
