Toby the Expedition Dog
Right now, the Rainforest Site is working to raise the funds required to allow a team of scientists to travel to the Sierra de Huérfana. Their goal: to collect the data necessary to ensure 32,000 acres in and around Sierra de Huérfana are protected forever.
For an expedition like the ones the Sky Islands Alliance leads to succeed, team members of all talents and abilities have to come along. A critical element of success for any SIA mission is Toby, the Expedition Dog.
Toby specializes in hugs and chasing lizards. He is not very good at catching the lizards, however.
He’s been joining Tom Van Devender, his owner, on trips to the Sky Islands of the southwest United States and northwest Mexico for almost twelve years. He’s been on seven MABA expeditions and many other trips to Mexico as far south as Guadalajara.
