Owl Steals Toy Horse And Carries It Around The Neighborhood

An owl in Illinois was spotted carrying around a stick horse in broad daylight, after seemingly stealing the toy from a child.

Eric Lind spotted the owl at his parent’s house and managed to snap some photos and videos. He shared about it on Facebook, saying that the “young neighborhood owl has stolen this stick horse and is flying around the neighborhood with it.”

Apparently, the owl was spotted around the Hilldale, Forest Park, and Ridge Lane neighborhood in Eureka Illinois. Eric added, “Hilldale/Forest Park/Ridge lane neighbors…if your child is missing their stick horse, you’ll have to talk to the owl!!”

Based on the photo, it doesn’t look like the owl is ready to give up the toy anytime soon.

After sharing about the owl and his new toy on Facebook, it wasn’t long before the post went viral as people couldn’t get over how adorable and funny it was! However, many people were concerned for the owl and worried that the bird might be stuck in the stick hose somehow.

Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Eric updated the post to say, “For those of you questioning if the owl is hurt or ‘entangled’ in the stick horse….we have no reason to believe this is the case as we witnessed the owl moving the horse around and even changing it’s grip on it at one point…”

Eric further shared, “This owl is part of a family of owls that have been in the neighborhood for about 6 months now, and this is one of the young owls…if someone sees that the owl is in danger or believes it is hurt, I’m sure the proper authorities would be contacted…”
