Adorable Orphaned Badger Is Stealing Hearts Around The World

We know that every animal has a personality. Some of them are docile, friendly, and lovable. Others, maybe not so much.

That is where badgers come in. According to The Dodo, Stephanie, who sometimes works with badgers with the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation organization, admits that they are “meaner than snot.”

Perhaps she had some bad experiences working with badgers in the past, but her attitude has changed now that she met Billy.

A couple found Billy running along the road in Texas and trying to cross it, so they caught the little fella and brought him to the wildlife center. Once Billy got there, they realized that he needed some special help, and Stephanie was called to do the job.

Stephanie wanted to rehabilitate Billy and release him back into the wild. By the time things worked out, however, it didn’t really end up that way.

Billy was very young when he came to the Wildlife Center, so he really didn’t have an opportunity to bond with his mother. Since Stephanie was around all the time helping her to rehabilitate, the bonding did take place but it took place with Stephanie.

When a badger lives in the wild, they tend to be an aggressive animal that is independent and doesn’t want much to do with humans. Billy, however, is breaking that mold in an amazing way.

Not only has Billy captured the heart of Stephanie, but he is also often taken out to schools where he interacts with the children and helps to educate them. He has even become good friends with Gertie, a French bulldog.
