New Jersey Residents Left Confused After 500lbs Of Pasta Shows Up Near The River

Residents of Old Bridge, New Jersey were left baffled and confused when 500lbs of pasta appeared near the river.

A woman named Nina Jochnowitz shared about the unusual discovery on Facebook.

In the post, she wrote: “For us in the 6th ward it comes and no surprise when we see the dumping of construction and other garbage spewed in all of the neighborhoods. This week, there was a new type of dumping, of excessive food, PASTA.”

“A good Estimate is more than 500 pounds of pasta dumped adjacent to the streams intersecting with Hilliard and Mimi,” she added.

While the pasta remained a mystery for a bit, NBC New York reports that the pasta actually came from a nearby home that was put up for sale.

Apparently, the homeowner passed away and her son dumped the pasta that was hoarded in the home. It was raw when he dumped it, but heavy rains softened the noodles so it appears cooked in the photos.

While many locals in the area weren’t happy about the pasta, it wasn’t long before the township’s public works department cleaned up the mess and hauled it away.
