Meanwhile In Florida: Giant Lizard Does A Godzilla Impression

In some parts of the world, lizards are found in almost all locations. In other parts of the world, they are difficult to come by unless you happen to have one as a pet.

If you happen to live in Florida, however, lizards are a fact of life. They can be found everywhere and sometimes, they can be a nuisance because they are found in such great numbers.

This is something that people from Apopka understand all too well. That city, which is located just outside of Orlando, is familiar with lizards and some of them are quite large.

That includes the Savannah monitor lizard that became part of a viral video. After the video was taken, Jocelyn Penson posted it online and people couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

After drawing people’s attention to the lizard, she cut right to the chase and said that he looked a lot like Godzilla. Many people who were watching the video online couldn’t help but agree.

As far as the Savannah monitor lizard is concerned, they are native to sub-Saharan Africa, according to Utah’s Hogle Zoo. They don’t come from Savannah and they don’t belong in Florida, so the wild ones are probably pets that were released because the owners didn’t want to care for them any longer.

After being posted, the video went viral for all the right reasons.

It doesn’t matter if you are a lizard fan or if you happen to enjoy Godzilla, this is a video for you:
