In 2016, the International Union for Conservation of Nature listed 12,991 animals as endangered, 5,210 of which are in critical danger. As the world’s climate continues to change, as humans take away more natural habitats, and as people continue to hunt and fish illegally, endangered animal populations keep dwindling.
Poachers are plaguing delicate populations, illegal whalers continue to hunt despite international law, and alongside these, there are many other reasons why more species are becoming threatened in today’s world.
In order to bring these animal populations back out of the red zone, people need to take the time to learn what animals are in danger, why, and what they can do to help.
There is always something that can be done.
Now let’s see if you can correctly guess the endangered species below!
