Fisherman Find Injured Deer On A Frozen River And Do The Right Thing

If you’ve never had the opportunity to go ice fishing, it really is something that is worth trying. It’s not necessarily catching fish that is so amazing but rather, it’s everything that you see along the way.

When two Canadian men were enjoying a day out on the Winnipeg River ice fishing, they also saw something amazing.

In fact, it was something they weren’t expecting but it caught their attention and they knew that something must be done.

According to ViralHog, Jayden Belanger and Shayne Mozdzen may have started out trying to bring home some fish, but they ended up finding a deer. That deer had fallen off of a frozen cliff onto the frozen river and now she couldn’t get back on her feet.

They knew that they needed to help her, but they weren’t sure how to do it. That is when they had the idea to grab some rope and ice skates and tow her back to the shore.

Fortunately, they captured it on video and you can see Mozdzen dragging the deer across the river to safety. After getting to the shore, they helped the deer get back on her feet.

Although the deer’s leg appeared to be injured, she was getting along quite nicely shortly after the release. They had just pulled her to the nearest house with flat land so she could get off the ice.

The deer appeared to be tired and she was having a hard time walking at first, but they are sure that she will be fine given a little time.
