Man Hand Feeds Hummingbird With Custom Built Feeder

Growing up, we had several hummingbird feeders hung up in our backyard. My dad has always had a fascination with hummingbirds, something I think he picked up from the days that he’d help my Uncle Max outside in the garden.

My uncle also had a fondness for the tiny birds, always seeing them as a sign of good luck. I guess I fell into the family fascination as well since I have a small tattoo of a hummingbird on my left arm.

When I was a kid, I used to like sitting out on the porch in the early evenings during summer and watching as the hummingbirds would come by and drink their special formula my dad would pick up for them at the garden center.

They’re small, but such eye-catching birds. There is one man in Oakland, California who doesn’t just have any old bird feeder for his hummingbird. He has a custom-built one which allows him to hadn’t feed the little hummingbird that has been a frequent guest to his backyard.

The man, who goes by birdperson666 on social media, shared a TikTok video on his channel where he talks all about his custom feeder. He even sells them so that other people can enjoy the experience of hand feeding such a beautiful bird.

Birdperson666 first came into contact with his hummingbird friend, whom he affectionately named Hector, back in October 2020.

Since then, the two have formed a bond through food. Birdperson666 tried a variety of different feeder styles, but in the end, he chose to craft his own. And it worked out great because now he’s got a regular visitor to his home that he gets to feed by hand.
