The New Tool To Catch Poachers Is A Surprising One

The last surviving male white rhino in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya has a new watchful protector looking over it.

His name is Diego, and he’s not just a handsome pooch, he’s a talented one, too! He underwent anti-poaching training under Daryll Pleasants, an ex-military dog training instructor in the UK with over 20 years of experience.

Thanks to his training and natural talent for being awesome, Diego is fantastic at his job. He works diligently with the guards at the conservancy to keep poachers at bay. Because of this, the conservancy has not lost a single rhino to poaching under Diego’s watch.

In this breathtaking GoPro video, watch Diego dash over rough terrain, leap through the air, and splash through the water as he puts his expert training into practice. Then prepare to gasp as he takes down a (decoy) poacher for demonstration.

Good boy, Diego!
