Family Helps Save Beached Baby Beluga Whale

Some of you may know the nursery rhyme about a “baby beluga in the deep blue sea.” However, this video shows an orphaned baby beluga very much out of the water! Discovered by some vacationers, the baby had washed up on the shores of the St. Lawrence river. Officials at the Group for Research and Education on Marine Animals (GREMM) resuscitated the whale and returned it to the river near a pod of female whales in the hopes that they would adopt the baby.
