Cops Break Down Door To Save ‘Woman’ Calling For Help And Discover A Parrot

Cops in England were in for quite the surprise when they broke into a home to rescue a woman in distress only to find the house empty.

According to the New York Post, the West Midlands Police received a report about an elderly woman “shouting for help” inside her home in Sutton Coldfield.

Officers didn’t hesitate to respond, but when they got to the residence, they found no one was responding to their knock at the door.

They weren’t going to leave the calls for help unanswered, so officers ended up breaking down the door. However, when they entered the residence, they were puzzled to find the place empty.

As it turns out, the cries for help hadn’t come from an elderly woman at all. Instead, they’d come from a family parrot!

The West Midlands Police recalled the incident on Twitter, writing:

“#CTEAM Sutton respond to a report of an elderly female shouting for help inside her address. Entry forced and searched however no sign of the female. Son arrives and informs PC JUKES that the Parrot in the living room talks and was the one shouting Help!”

Thankfully, the team seemed to take the incident with a good sense of humor.

The department wrote in an update tweet:

“#CTEAM Sutton are ready for another day of answering emergency calls! Hopefully we don’t have anymore calls relating to naughty Parrots!” The tweet was ended with hashtags including #PollySendingPoliceCrackers and #ParrotGate.

Hopefully the pet parrot keeps things under wraps in the future! We wouldn’t want it to turn into a situation where the parrot cries wolf!
