Burmese Butterflies

Deep in the forests of Burma, scientist Ross Piper is on a mission to document rare species in an effort to prove the importance of preserving Burmese biodiversity as the country moves toward becoming a more developed nation.

In less than two weeks, Piper was able to record over 300 insect species, demonstrating the rich diversity of Burmese habitats. Watch the video to see Piper bound through the forest to record some rare butterfly species.
