We sometimes hear about cats climbing up in a tree and getting stuck. There have even been reports of firemen coming out to rescue those animals, but an electric company worker had to get involved in Arizona.
Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative was called to the scene when they found the bear stuck on a utility pole in Arizona.
It was a difficult situation and one that was dangerous for both the rescuer and the bear, but it all worked out well in the end.
After Lineman Werner Neubauer arrived to help the animal in Wilcox, Arizona, he found the bear at the top of the pole and realized he needed to help.

The first thing that he did was to turn off the electricity and then he took a ride in a bucket lift up to meet the bear face-to-face.
You can hear him saying: “Alright, little bear. Time to get off this pole” as he arrived. Later, he admitted that he knew the bear didn’t understand him but he couldn’t help but talking him through it.
An 8-foot fiberglass stick was used to prompt the bear to climb back down the pole again. Although the bear wasn’t very happy about it, he eventually gave up and went back to the ground again.
