Woman Returns From 5-Day Vacation To Find Mysterious Black Dust Coating Her Bathroom

Leaving on vacation can be exciting and fun, but there’s something comforting about returning home. There really is no place like home and after being away, it feels extra good to return.

However, sometimes we leave and come back to find something unexpected. That recently happened to a mom in New South Wales, Australia when she returned from a 5-day vacation to find some mysterious black dust in her bathroom.

According to the Daily Mail, Vicki took to the popular Facebook group Mums Who Clean to share about her discovery.

She shared a photo of the mysterious black substance with a post that read, “We have no idea what it is or how to get rid of it. It’s below the bathroom window and has fallen onto the top of the row of tiles and on the bath surround.”

Vicki ended her post by asking for help from other moms who might know what the dust is or how to get rid of it.

Fortunately, it wasn’t long before the comments started flooding in, but the answers weren’t great. “There are most likely ants in your windowsill,” one mom said, according to the Daily Mail. Another added, “It’s ant dust – there’s an ant nest behind the wall.”

According to News.com.au, Vicki updated the post later to confirm that the culprit was likely ants. She said her husband spotted a tiny hole and noticed ants.

She said, “He watched some tiny black ants come in and out – we have bought some Ant Rid bait strips from the supermarket and have placed them near the tiny hole! Fingers crossed it works!”

Hopefully that’s the end of their problems! At least the mystery is solved.
